Symagin™ 3D Liquid
Symagin™ 3D Liquid is a three-part formulation that is activated immediately upon mixing and remains active for up to 8 hours.
Symagin™ 3D Liquid can be dispersed in a variety of ways, from liquid, to a fine misting spray in aerosol cans (for general use) to a foam solution dispersed through decontamination equipment available from Intelagard. Symagin™ 3D Liquid is proven effective on vehicles, building (interiors, exteriors, and air conditioning ducts) and the ground. For almost instant decontamination of small items or areas, Symagin™ 3D Liquid can be sprayed in a fine mist directly onto the effected item or area with no negative impact on the environment, sensitive electronics (including computer equipment), or any non-microbial living organism in the area.
Clean-up is a breeze. When Symagin™ 3D Liquid is sprayed in a fine mist, it leaves a delicate residue that is easily wiped away. When it is used in decontamination systems, you can simply hose the area down with plain water. After 8 hours, all residue and rinse runoff becomes 100% inactive and 100% biodegradable, making Symagin™ 3D Liquid the ultimate choice for safe and environmentally responsible decontamination treatments. |
How Symagin™ 3D Liquid Works
Some biological agents, such as bacteria and viruses, are relatively easy to disinfect. Others, however, such as anthrax, are very difficult to disinfect because they are spores. How do you disinfect a spore? You disinfect a spore by fracturing the spore's tough polysaccharide armor, allowing the oxidizing agents (like those in Symagin™ 3D Liquid) to attack the genetic material inside.
Symagin™ 3D Liquid neutralizes chemical agents in much the same way a detergent lifts away an oily spot from a stained shirt. Its surfactants (like those in hair conditioner) and mild oxidizing substances (like those in toothpaste) begin to chemically digest the chemical agent, seeking out the nitrogen or sulfure bonds that hold the molecules together and cleaving the molecules into nontoxic pieces.
Several minutes after using Symagin™ 3D Liquid (such as in a chemical or biological incident), Symagin™ 3D Liquid collapses back to its compact liquid state of water and oxygen and is benign enough to be washed down the drain like dish soap.

Decontamination of Chemical and Biological Agents
For decades, the U.S. military's standard protocol for decontaminating soldiers, vehicles, and equipment that had been exposed to biological or chemical weapons and contaminants was to wash them in concentrated bleach (NaOCl).
Unfortunately, not only did this make soldiers sick and corrode or destroy the treated equipment, but bleach did not even effectively neutralize the contaminants. The military needed a better solution.
